The British Bridleless Competition is making history.
Created in response to the growing movement of riders who wish to compete without a bridle, this groundbreaking event offers something the UK has never seen before: a full competition dedicated entirely to bridleless riding.
Founded by Mia Rodley of The Heart of Horsemanship, the competition was born from a simple but powerful belief that the deepest partnership between horse and rider is built on trust, communication, and understanding. After successfully competing in dressage bridleless by special permission at two venues, Mia set out to create a space where these remarkable partnerships could be celebrated openly and safely.

The Day’s Competition
Morning: British Dressage tests, judged by two experienced judges
Afternoon: Show jumping classes with heights reaching up to 1.30m

Evening Performance
As the sun sets, the arena transforms into an inspiring showcase of skill, trust, and connection. Our special evening performance will highlight exceptional partnerships and breathtaking demonstrations…… all performed bridleless.
Safety First
The event is fully insured through Howden Insurance, with comprehensive risk assessments in place. Mia Rodley will personally oversee the competition to ensure every combination remains safe and in control. If at any point a partnership appears unsafe, they will be respectfully asked to withdraw to protect the wellbeing of horses, riders, and spectators.
